Last weekend I spent a lovely day at an artist workshop in Healdsburg, California. It was hosted on the beautiful property at Front Porch Farms, where the day got started with a tour of the grounds and gardens. The property is incredible, they grow all kinds of produce, flowers, grains, and they even have a vineyard. Our first workshop of the day was with the very talented watercolor painter and textile designer, Helen Dealtry. I just love her technique and have always been inspired by her art, so this was so fun to watch her demonstration and learn some new techniques… and even more fun to work on our own paintings.
After our painting session we were all treated to the most incredible lunch made from all the fresh fruits and vegetables grown right there on the farm. We even got to try the incredible wines they make there on the farm as well. Following lunch was a flower arrangement workshop. They had a whole area set up like a little flower shop, filled with all kinds of beautiful flowers for us to choose from. I loved seeing all the different arrangements everyone created.
To end the day on a sweet note, fresh farm picked strawberries and giant homemade cookies! Such a great day… beautiful weather, amazing food, and learning new creative skills with a lovely group of people, I couldn’t have asked for a nicer weekend!
