I'm feeling like the proudest mom right now! My daughter Rachel, who is 21 and studying in NYC, just told us great news. Her school, the Fashion Institute of Technology, has partnered with some companies in a shoe design competition, and Rachel has made it into the top 12 applicants!

The top 6 will be featured in the online contest, which will be like Project Runway for shoes (so exciting, right?). It's called FN Shoe Star, and as the website states, "The lucky - and talented - winner of FN Shoe Star will receive a full-time design job in the footwear industry as an Associate Designer with Brown Shoe Company."
